vimcdoc — Vim Chinese Documentation
Originally at vcd.gro.clinux.org
vimcdoc was a community translation of the official Vim documentation into simplified Chinese. It lived for years at vcd.gro.clinux.org and was the most-downloaded resource for Chinese-language Vim users in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
What it was
vimcdoc shipped a full simplified-Chinese translation of the Vim help system as a drop-in replacement for the English help files. Users could install it as a standalone package or merge it into an existing Vim setup, and the documentation showed up under the same :help command structure Vim users already knew. The translation covered the core help, the :options pages, and the bulk of the bundled plugin documentation.
Who built it
vimcdoc was maintained by a volunteer Chinese-language Vim community organised on the gro.clinux.org infrastructure. The project's release page on vim.org's script directory was — and remains — the canonical pointer to the translation, and it was widely linked from CSDN tutorials, blogs, and Chinese-language Linux distribution wikis.
Where to find it now
The vim.org script-directory entry (script_id=775) is still live and links to current archived releases. The original source documentation under vcd.gro.clinux.org/doc/ was moved to community mirrors over the years; the archive link below points to the most-cited starting page.
