WRC — Tool Mirror (PuTTY and SSH utilities)

Originally at wrc.gro.clinux.org

WRC was a download mirror under the gro.clinux.org infrastructure that hosted Windows tooling for Chinese-speaking Linux users — most prominently a Chinese-localised PuTTY package referenced in tutorials about connecting from Windows to Linux servers.

What it was

WRC served as a download mirror for SSH-related Windows tools — PuTTY in particular — repackaged with Chinese-language documentation and ready-to-run binaries. The /putty/ directory was the most-cited path: blog tutorials about logging into Linux servers from Windows would point at it as the recommended PuTTY download for Chinese users.

Where to get PuTTY now

PuTTY's official site (chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/) remains the canonical source. The Windows Subsystem for Linux and OpenSSH-on-Windows have substantially reduced the need for a separate SSH client on modern Windows machines.
